The Love Song We Wrote

Somewhere in between the notes
He wrote upon my skin
A song arose writ from the words
I’d kept hidden within

Lyrics I was scared to share
Out of fear they’d be misheard
But somehow he heard what’s inside me
Without me uttering a word.

Instead of wandering aimlessly
For that perfect melody
He led the way effortlessly
And didn’t miss a beat.

He says reality is what we think
Why think of what could go wrong?
Let this rhapsody play on and on
And just enjoy the song

And no matter where the road leads
Though the score may be long
I’ll ride the highs and lows with you and soon we’ll both be home…
Home to each other where we belong.
