Tomoyoshi Sakamoto

Tomoyoshi Sakamoto 2

Tomoyoshi SAKAMOTO (1985) is an artist born in 1985. His acrylic paintings are representative of Neo-Nihonga Japanese style. Tears are a common characteristic of Sakamoto’s subjects, as they inflict pain and humiliation upon themselves. Not all of his works are graphic, or feature the element of pain, some are strangely unsettling, some are peaceful, yet eerie. He uses a technique similar to Manga characters, fine renderings, soft and youthful expressions, yet his subjects are pictured in morbid situations.
