The Parade of Dead Things
The Parade of Dead Things:
-
“Milk, in a sippy cup
-
Motherhood, in a book
-
He told me left left left right there–
-
The earth has swallowed his symptoms of negligence
-
Toothpaste
-

-
Against a sky of thunder and blue, that doesn’t listen…
-
Baby wipes
-
I was never good at following directions, but you were at the end of that rainbow, darling
-
Some words still unshaped by my splintered lips like cavities, at times, they nest amidst my teeth.
-

-
The car seat goddammit
-
Tongue while he speaks. Please.
-
Staples
-
Bandaids
-
I know sometimes he finds my silver rings in the folds of our bed sheets because my fingers have grown so thin that they slip off while I fight through his nightmares.
