Step Into The Light: Best Berlin NYE Events

Hey artparasites: only one day left until New Year’s Eve! Still stuck stranded without plans? We have remedies for you! Check out our list of Berlin’s best NYE art parties, exhibitions and performances below:

Start the Day off Right

Pergamon Museum & Neues Museum – 10am-2 pm [14 euro]

You know the night is going to get crazy, so why not start the day off with culture and class at one of Berlin’s finest art institutions. Most state-run museums are closed New Year’s Eve, but if you’re up early enough you can begin your day of debauchery with a visit to “The Bust of Nefertiti” at the Neues Museum or a stroll through the collection of classical antiquities at The Pergamon.

C/O Berlin – 11am-5pm [14 euro]

We’ve all seen them: the blurry red-eyed party pics that make you cringe the morning after. Why not use the daylight hours of the 31st for a little photographic inspiration and head to C/O Berlin? Who knows, maybe this little artistic adventure will ensure your New Year’s Eve iPhoto albums are gallery-worthy themselves.

Get in the Mood

Zagreus Projekt – “Art Gallery and Restaurant”

Every great party should start with a great meal, and BAPS reporter extraordinaire Marie J Burrows has sussed out the perfect place for an artistic entree. Zagreus Projekt hosts different artists every two months, and the menu is carefully crafted based on the art in the space. Email for a reservation: info@zagreus-berlin.net

The Chamaeleon – “Loft”  Entry and Dinner – 20:30 [45-55 euro]

If dinner theatre is more your style, head over to The Chamaeleon for “Loft,” an artistic performance of acrobatics and art coupled with a gourmet meal. If you’re in the mood to continue the party after the performance, DJ hellgA and “The Speedos” rock on into the wee hours. Call now to secure tickets: +49 (0)30 / 4000 590

The party between Brandenburger Tor and Siegessäule –  Pariser Platz 1 [Free]

Billed as the world’s largest New Year’s Eve Party, the crowds at Pariser Platz will number more than one million this year. While it’s not quite Social Practice, this horde of partygoers will certainly provide ample opportunity for people-watching, and everyone knows that in this sexy city sometimes the best art comes in human form.

Party On

LEAP/Bpigs – “NYE Fundraising Masquerade Ball” 10pm-8am [7 euro pre-sale, 12 euro at the door]

Party with a purpose. Join Bpigs and LEAP on a spectacular terrace overlooking Alexanderplatz for a masked ball that will help to support another year of fantastic events at the Lab for Electronic Arts and Performance (LEAP). Get your tickets online by donating here.
