Thursday March 7th 2013

Where Is Jesus Temporary Space (Wrangelstrasse 57) – Where is Jesus Day – From 3pm

Café and art gallery Where is Jesus? Temporary Space will present a new collection of clothing artwork and more at this afternoon bonanza in Kreuzberg. There will be live music, an after party, and we would imagine a lot of cake…

St. Agnes – “Public Works – Architecture by Civil Servants” Opening – 5pm

After a year of substantial change for St. Agnes, the former parish house and church will be unveiled as a gallery for the showing of the exhibition “Public Works.” Originally conceived for the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2012, the show will focus on European architecture of the 1960s and 70s.

Polish Institute Berlin – “Dots Lines & Me” Opening – 7pm

Hadn’t heard of the Polish Institute Berlin before? Be glad you have now because otherwise you wouldn’t have come across the talented Polish artist Kropki Kreski. Explore his beautiful drawings and paintings at the opening of his exhbition “Dots, Lines & Me” and stay tuned for a BAPs interview with the artist himself.

Friday March 8th 2013

SUPERMARKT – Freitagsfrühstück – 9am until noon

Start your day right with a breakfast and a coffee chatting to other creatives at SUPERMARKT. The beginning of a monthly Friday morning series, the first event will include a presentation by Karen Wohlert and Scott Bolden from Wedding’s eco project Das Baumhaus.

Mindpirates – Silo Sessions III: Peter Kirn – 9pm

Situated in the old grain silo in the middle of Kreuzberg, this event is the third in a series exploring the relationship between audio and visual concepts––in other words, a chance to get your groove on. If you fancy starting the evening early, head over to Mindpirates earlier starting event, Pre-Spring House Warming Effect, which includes dinner, music, films and DJs. Evening sorted!

NB: It has been brought to our attention that Silo Sessions has been rescheduled to March 15th – sorry guys!

Atlas Pancakes – UAC 216 Lab / Exhibition and Live Painting – 8pm

Come see the fruits of a nine day art session at an open studio at Atlas Pancakes. The Urban Art Clash project has been going for 216 hours solid, inviting artists from around the world to participate and clash their styles in the creation of the “One Size, One Prize” exhibition. Actually a practice run for their upcoming exhibition at Platoon Kunsthalle, we can’t wait to see the final results!

Saturday March 9th 2013

LEAP – “The—family” Part 2: An Example – Performance – 8pm

The second in a series of performances held at LEAP, “An Example” is directed by Polish artist Wojciech Kosma, whose brainchild “The—family” has exhibited its pieces internationally. Another great way for performance art enthusiasts to pass the time until the third Month of Performance Art in May.

Platoon Kunsthalle – MPA Bash – 9pm

Jazz, fashion, expats, social media, yoga––in Berlin there seems to be a week/month dedicated to most subjects, and luckily performance art is no different. To prepare for and help fund the month long performance art extravaganza in May, head down to their shindig at Platoon Kunsthalle featuring more DJs and performance art than you can shake a stick at.

C/O Berlin – Bye Bye Mitte Party – 9pm

The time has come all too soon to bid a teary farewell to the Postfuhramt. The exhibitions are down, the book shop has been plundered but they’re hosting one last night for us to “make party” in memory of this amazing building, which will be sorely missed. With multiple DJ’s, screenings, two dancefloors and already over 3,000 confirmed guests on Facebook, this will be a night to remember.
