Drinking in Style

In preparation for the upcoming Berliner Liste Art Fair which takes place at MUMA during Berlin Art Week, we invited you, our readers, to make your own Berliner Liste and tell us about your top 3 bars with art or cool interiors in Berlin. Thanks to everyone for all their great submissions!  With so many great bars in Berlin it must have been difficult! We know that we would have a hard time choosing too! So, because it was such a difficult choice we’ve decided on two winners! Why? Because there were just so many great places worth mentioning that we just couldn’t help ourselves! Here are the top two winning lists. Congratulations guys!  Or should I say, girls!

Our first list comes from Laila Evenson. Laila gives us a solid list of hip and homey Kreuzberg watering holes.

Hubertuslounge

This bar in the Wrangelkiez in Kreuzberg has a homey, DIY living room interior with just the right amount of thrift store chic.

Konrad Tönz

Fancy a trip back to the 60s? Well that’s just what Konrad Tönz’s groovy interior has to offer! This bar even has record parties! No ipods here! (well sometimes)

Wiener Blut

This hip spot features a long bar and super low lighting. What more could you ask for?

Our second list comes from Sylvia Sky who has given some off the beaten track highlights of the Neukölln bar scene.

 The Black Lodge

That’s right, you guessed it. This is a Twin Peaks themed bar. Step into the Black Lodge and sip cocktails in a red curtained room with a zig-zag black and white floor. But watch out for Bob!

 Bierbaum 2

This is one of Berlin’s best Kneipes. Open 24 hours, with a giant tree in the middle of the bar, the €2.50 whisky-cokes will keep you going after the other bars shut down for the night.

 Bergklause

Bergklause is another fantastic Berlin Kneipe. This place has shag carpeted walls, tiger, cat, and dog motifs, and an accumulation of holiday décor that lasts the whole year round. Don’t expect any hipsters here!
