Cynthia Tedy is a freelance illustrator from Jakarta, Indonesia. The illustration featured above is one of several illustrations created for themed project called Salinity. In the artist’s words: “It is a visual poetry about the experience of a sudden homecoming; about how the proximity to immediate family members after a long separation is able to renew one’s awareness of who they are. This project is meant to chronicle what a home may become: a memory bathed under fervent sun, leaving traces of faint shimmer on the skin and raw tingles on the tongue. Home is perpetual summer and it scorches like no other.”
