Berlin has a week or festival for just about anything: Fashion Week (count em’: 2), Music Week, Green Week (not the kind you smoke), the Berlinale Film Festival, and even a short-lived Drag Week. So it’s about time that Berlin gets its act together and dedicate a full week to its burgeoning art scene. With four huge art fairs already set to take place over the same few days in September, it finally dawned on Berlin’s Senate Chancellery for Economics and the Senate Chancellery for Cultural Affairs that it’s about time for Berlin to have an Art Week of it’s own – from September 11th until the 16th. berlin-artparasites is ready to enjoy and feast on the fruits of the Berlin art scene – we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest developments and hottest art events and parties… and even have tickets for some of you lucky artparasites!

So what can you expect? berlin-artparasites will be providing full, up-to-the-minute coverage of all the art fairs taking place during Berlin Art Week. From the Preview Berlin – the emerging art fair taking place at the historic Tempelhof airport, to Stroke Urban Art Fair showcasing the best urban art with live performances at Postbahnhof, to the two fairs upholding Berlin’s contemporary art  Art Berlin Contemporary and the Berliner Liste. We’ll have free tickets to give away to Preview Berlin and Stroke Urban Art Fair, so that our readers can join us and get in on the fun! We’re also currently recruiting some artparasites to get behind the scenes, so don’t miss your opportunity.

Life is Not Only an Art Fair

In addition to the large-scale art fairs set to take place in Berlin, artists and galleries have cleared their calendars and have started making plans for their inclusion and input into the art festivities of the year. Galleries, art space and institutions will all have their doors open during this week with some extra treats in store.
