A Poem To The One Who Will Always Wear My Heart On His Sleeve

We were never here.

Lets act as if we,
never attempted to be –
and while that might,
be the truth for you,
it wouldn’t be to me.
If I could change it all,
could set your demons free,
and make you let go,
I would without flinching –
just so you could be with me.
But I can’t make you lose your heart.
You’ll always be the one,
I wish I had met when,
timing was good for falling in love.
Just know,
you meant something to me,
you still do,
and sometimes I still get drunk,
on so sweet memories –
let’s not let them ever get bitter,
it would be such a shame.
