Openings, exhibitions, parties, and fairs..oh my! Get ready for some more artsy awesomeness this Saturday with the grand opening of new art space WYE, a solo exhibition by Renata Har, and a rooftop BBQ at Haus der Kulturen der Welt! So sit back and have a glass of wine while you peruse through our Saturday event guide…then put on your party clothes because it’s gonna be a crazy weekend!

Preview Berlin Art Fair Focus Academy Exhibit 1pm-8pm

One of the great things about Preview Berlin Art Fair is that this is a place for artists from all walks of life. One of the most popular exhibits at the fair this year has been the Focus Academy booth which showcases work from art students from eight renowned art academies. You do not want to miss it!

Akademie Der Künste Exhibition by Douglas Gordon 7pm

Kathe Kollwitz Prize Winner, Berlin-based Scottish media artist Douglas Gordon’s new exhibit at ADK promises an elaborate exhibition showing some of his best work since 1992. Get ready for complete visual overload on 93 TV monitors!

Atelierhof Kreuzberg Luxus Loft “The September Issue” 6pm-9pm

In the modern contemporary art scene, it seems artists are always searching for the newest crazy medium–anything from biodegradable substances to candle wax. But sometimes, it is good to just take a step back and re-explore the original art form of drawing. This new exhibit of LUXURY LOFT, is dedicated solely to the drawing medium and named in reference to the American Vogue magazine edition. It’s gonna be HAUTE!

Haus der Kulturen der Welt  At the kiosk: BBQ 7pm-10pm

Unfortunately, a body cannot survive on art alone! With all of these art events and parties, sometimes we here at berlin-artparasites forget to take care of our basic human needs..like..FOOD! But now, we have an event that combines both! Head over to a rooftop BBQ at Haus der Kulturen der Welt with lectures, performances, and concerts. 

The WYE– Grand Opening 8pm

This saturday, you can witness first hand the birth of awesome! The iconic Skalitzer Post reopens as the new international art house “The WYE.” The highly-anticipated new art space is a place for any and every art form designed to attract a diverse audience. The celebration gets under way at 8pm!
