So much to do this weekend, so little time. But don’t worry, we’ve got a listing of all of the best art events and parties for this weekend. And the best news? Most of these events have free entry! Our list will help guide you in your quest for art experience.  The choices you have over the next few days are many. We’ve got the spirit of Michael Jackson, eggy pudding, religious icons, BBQs, and a 3 day free art festival all here in our tips for the weekend’s best art parties and events. Also, you have the chance to see a collection of toys and street art, watch an art wall be built, experience A LOT of sound art, drink art inspired beer, and of course mix and mingle. So are you ready to hang up your work clothes and jump into a wacky weekend? Well of course you are!

Me Collectors Rooms Art and Toys -5pm

Last chance to see Selim Varol’s collection of toys and street art, while enjoying a collector’s tour and celebrating the show catalogue’s release. Varol has a collection of 15,000 toys. Wow. Only a quarter or so are on view here, but that’s still a whole lot of toys!  Registration for the tour is required.  You can register at info@me-berlin.com

KOFFER Sommerfest 2012 and Julia Münstermann -5pm

Koffer invites you to their Sommerfest 2012 to enjoy a BBQ and Kolsch beer, of course! You’ll also get to check out a new exhibition by Julia Münstermann. Feed you soul and your stomach!

Galerie “baum auf dem hügel” Sergej A. Dott Der Madonnen Heiliger Schein

Artist Sergei Alexander Dott presents a solo show full of unusual Madonnas. Who becomes a religious icon in this show? You’ll have to see the show to find out!

HomeBase Lab Berlin  HB III Festival – Friday 7pm – Sunday -10pm

Pudding, tea, performances, DJs, installations, and 21 open studios are just a few of the things that make up HomeBase’s 3 day art festival.  Starting Friday night with a packed program these international artists are taking over a brewery cause they’ve just got that much art!

Infernoesque Bring a Brick -8pm

A very special closing event will take place as Infernoesque closes it’s doors for the last time.  Artists who have been involved with the space will be bringing an “art brick” for the building of a new wall.  So say your solemn goodbyes and enjoy the BBQ, drinks, and the memories

Das Gift Shaun Badham and Sarah Zust HELIBASE Part 2 -7pm

This duo is presenting us a show where all the work has been made in the 17 days prior to the opening around the urban environment of Berlin.  Expect a playful multi-media exploration of Berlin on the white walls of a gallery.

SAVVY Contemporary Archival Practices: Visual Tendencies of a Generation -7pm

Curator Zeynep Akbal gets heavy, as she explores the structure, history, and culture of non-western artwork.  Artists include: Mofor Clementine Cendoh, Em’Kal Eyongakpa, Musing Derick Tenning (INAIZ), Ndoumbe Ewane, and Rene Etta Tabot.

WYE Sound Development City 7pm-10pm

Closing party, The Last Cry.  11 sound and performance artists will treat your ears to their version on this theme before moving the show on to London and Zurich.

BQ Alan Kane THE UNWANTED -6pm-9pm

If you like your art with a sense of humor, then head to the Closing evening of Alan Kane’s “The Unwanted”.  Past works have included intriguing titles such as:  “The Orphan Tea Party” and “Prisonyard Piñata.”  In addition to a book launch there will be an award for the most “abject object”.  The artist will be present.

FEED Soundspace  Group Show Electric Voice Phenomena -9pm (€6 entry)

Are you ready for a night of performance where the spirit of Michael Jackson is channeled and robots talk together about synthetic speech?  If you are, then check out this show where performance poetry, installation art, sound art, and more explore the relationship between the spoken word and technology.
