It’s Art Student Sunday!

This may be difficult, but: Today is the time to try and tear your attention away from Berlin’s Universität der Künste and focus instead on Weißensee Kunsthochschule, another prestigious art academy, currently hosting their own annual Rundgang. The university, founded in 1946, lays claim to an impressive alumni including sculptor Waldemar Grzimek, painter Ronald Paris and designer Rudi Högner. Today however is your last chance to check out their more recent collection of creatives and meet the art students in person. Starting at 1pm, their Rundgang 2012 programme includes the opening of all student studios and workspaces, a presentation of the book ‘Color Fields’ as well as a tour of the end of term exhibition with curator, Frank Wagner.

This is your chance to see a younger generation’s take on contermporary art; to scout fresh talent or simply to quench your curiosity. So roll out of bed, brave the rain and make today a student spectacle!

  • The studios and workspaces to be found at Bühringstraße 20, 13086 Berlin, open today from 1pm – 5pm. The Tour of the exhibition takes place at Oranienplatz 17, 10999 Berlin at 5pm.
