Getting Wild In The Bathtub

Berlin is a city of vibrancy, movement, innovation and creation – most notable in its burgeoning art scene. While overcast skies are a norm in Berlin, color prevails in the form of graffiti trainwriting on the S-Bahns rushing by, paint-filled underground train tunnels and ghost-like remnants of street art scattered around the city. The poetry and beauty of this city can be read through its up and coming art spaces, galleries and urban art. With the first-ever Berlin Art Week taking place in September 2012, berlin-artparasites wants to celebrate the art scene in Berlin by throwing our own Berlin Art Week Kick Off Party and Exhibition – Berliner Splendor – set to take place the evening of September 11th 2012 at the one and only STATTBAD Wedding.

Berlin opens up at night, under low-light and little surveillance a real kind of artistic intimacy with the cityscape – its sounds and texture – can be achieved. So join us for an intimate evening as berlin-artparasites presents the Berlin art scene like the open book that it is – anecdotes, pieces, fragments and whole narratives. Join us for live art performances alongside various multi-media artworks on display from 20+ Berlin-based artists. There is no location that is more ideal than STATTBAD Wedding to present this exhibition. It’s elegant roughness, authenticity and roots in the Berlin urban art scene make it an ideal location. For this particular exhibit, a long hall with bath stalls and bathtubs will be used to exhibit the artwork.

After some VJing by He Man Trust On Power Dust, some beats courtesy of resident STATTBAD DJs will provide the music for the evening! Stay tuned to berlin-artparasites.com for the official artist and DJ line-up and chances to get on the guestlist!
