Get A Taste Of This Berlin Weekend!

We are happy to announce and welcome the new Berlin members of The Swarm! The galleries and art spaces that joined our network during the past days are Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Café des Artistes, Michaela Helfrich Galerie and Jarmuschek + Partner!

Swarm Events

Künstlerhaus Bethanien – "Carvalho, Kraft, de Marco, Strand, Staples & Osborne" Opening – Thursday, August 22nd, 2013 (7pm)

Künstlerhaus Bethanien residents Carvalho and Strand will exhibit their work along a group of other artists. As always, the vast space and familiar atmosphere of this institution allows a good interaction between the artists and the public. The dialog created between those who have lived there for a year and those who haven't will surely transform into a florid conversation.

Michaela Helfrich Gallery – "FarbTONE" Exhibition – On view until August 29th, 2013

Artist and DJ Betty Stürmer makes pieces that are in between paintings and collages. The bond between her music and plastic works can be appreciated as a colorful remix. This combo of music and painting in an artist is indeed exciting. Visitors can experiment the results and find out for themselves how paintings can be listened to and how music can be painted.

Café des Artistes – "Lenguaje subjetivo / Subjektive Sprache" – On view until October 26th, 2013

Spanish painter Emilio Fornieles undertook the heroic task of painting close-ups of celebrated personalities such as Marlene Dietrich and Johann Sebastian Bach. That is just one half of what he is exhibiting; in addition, he painted the faces of well kown German personalities inside very small tubes and put light in them so they would glow. This interesting artist truly likes paying hommage to faces and public-personas. Come by and check out the x-large and x-small semblants!

Jarmuschek & Partner – Currently on summer break but will be back in action in their new rooms in Potsdamer Str. 81b (former Tagesspiegel area) on September 13!
