Denise van Leeuwen was born in Heinkenszand, the Netherlands in 1981. Coming from a creative family, she knew at a very early age that she loved drawing. Denise started freelancing after her graduation from the Willem de Kooning academy in 2005. She creates her illustrations with pen and pencil, sometimes with coloured pencil, but mostly graphite. The models in her drawings are usually friends and family, although you might recognize the artist in some of them.
