Dear Women, Here’s What A Man Thinks About How It Is To Love You

Painting by Richard Phillips

Dear Women,
Don’t think a man is made just to love.

A man needs to be loved too

A man is not love’s employee
Ready to fill your voids,
Turn your nightmares into sweet dreams.

Don’t think that a man doesn’t need to feel the attention, the presence,
The glow in the eyes of a woman who truly loves him
With every inch of her body

Don’t think that a man doesn’t need the sensation of reliance, of safeness,
Of looking in the eyes of someone who looks at you
Like you’re the most precious little thing in the world.

A little flower
To be protected from rain, wind and snow.

While you’re looking for someone truly loving you
Don’t forget to truly love someone

And if you feel you’re truly loving someone
Search for the glow in his eyes.
If you can’t see it,
If it’s not there,
There will never be.

Don’t think that you don’t need to be loved.

Don’t think that you don’t need to see that glow in someone’s eyes
Don’t think that you don’t need the sensation of safeness, of connection, of warmth.

Because real, true love
Goes always both ways.
