Creative Communal Living

Art collectives are not just absolutely in, but they are also a must. In a city like Berlin, bursting with creativity and artists from all corners of the globe, what better way to get your creative juices flowing than by collaborating, building off of and working with others that share your aesthetic and perceptive frame of mind? HomeBase Project, a highly active art collective that has been on our radar for some months now, is currently accepting applications for the next 83-day artist residency period. Think you’ve got what it takes? Apply before September 16th 2012 for the chance to join this creative community.

Having recently said goodbye to their last group of residents – artists coming from the US, South Korea, and everywhere in between – HomeBase is now looking to fill the rooms and halls of their massive living complex (that also happens to be a former brewery!). We attended the farewell bash, which was in the form of a three day festival celebrating art, life, and creativity and could not get enough of the live performances, exhibition, crisp beer and celestial interventions (in the form of a stellar TUSK performance, amongst other happenings). If only every weekend could be a HomeBase weekend.

If you are an artist near or far, eager or jaded, energized or in need of desperate creative stimulation, this artist residency could very well be for you. But hurry, the application deadline is a little more than a week away! More info on how to apply can be found here.
