Codruța Cernea is a Romanian painter from the city of Târgu-Mureș, with a Master’s Degree in Arts. Her collection of acrylic on canvas works picture the nature of complex messages as conveyed in simple imagery. Her paintings are calm, serene, contemplative, emptied of tension, anxiety, abandon, yet subject to them. She is fascinated by the relationship between body language, motion and space. Codruța Cernea illustrates atmospheres of nostalgia, freeze-frame film-like sequences, private moments, images of meditation.
