Carly Fischer Interview

Streets, construction sites, human traces, junk are for Carly Fischer food for the mind.

Berlin based since 2008 she’s originally from Melbourne, Australia where she graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of technology (RMIT) in 2000 with a BFA in sculpture.

Depicting the same curiosity of an antropologist, her work is a continue research and exploration of how globalization and, expecially here in Berlin, gentrification, is reflected in the exterior.

Simplifying and reproducing with paper the objects that she finds walking through the streets she creates site specific installations or single objects that become symbols of a society by now dangerously homogenised worldwide.

She is represented by Helen Gory Galerie in Melbourne, Australia and KWADRAT in Berlin, Germany.
