Ai Weiwei Uncensored

Like many people in the world, I have fallen for Ai Weiwei, one of the most inspiring contemporary artists of our time. He is an artist who has a really serious cause and speaks for one of the largest populations on earth: China! He not only speaks to them, but inspires the rest of the world as he has come to represent the struggle against repression, censorship and the big brother of every nation! Now you can learn even more about this artist in a film screening that begins today at the Martin-Gropius-Bau!

His art generally speaks for him and his cause but with the new film “Never Sorry” by Alison Klayman, Ai Weiwei takes center stage and his political and personal plight as an artist and everyday inhabitant of China are revealed through himself. An even bigger plus is that this film will be screened at Martin-Gropius-Bau, one of the most spectacular art venues in Berlin, where Weiwei’s artwork is currently being exhibited! If you stop by, you will also get an extra treat as not only Ai Weiwei is exhibiting here, but the current exhibition “Art and Press” is showing some other big names too, like Gerhard Richter and Julian Schnabel! Most of us will never be lucky enough to meet this incredible man in person, but this film is sure to bring us a bit closer to the artist behind the works!
